Seminars - 2007 Symposium

In fall 2007, Wetlands Solutions, LLC presented two Wetlands Symposiums. In addition to the annual Coast Symposium, a Symposium was held in Hattiesburg to provide wetlands education for those north of the coastal areas. The purpose of the symposiums were to equip real estate professionals, developers, engineers, appraisers, attorneys, state and local government officials with applicable knowledge and competency on current wetlands and development related issues. Continuing Education credit was offered for realtors, appraisers, engineers and attorneys.

At each symposium, panelists including a Corps Project Manager, an attorney, an environmental consultant, an engineer and a wetlands mitigation expert offered licensees an array of wetlands perspectives. Topics discussed were permitting guidelines and timeframes, working with wetlands in site development, the Supreme Court decision in Rapanos and wetlands mitigation options and costs. The annual symposiums are an opportunity for professionals to become more competent regarding wetlands laws and their affects on the real estate and development industries and in turn increase their effectiveness in representing the best interests of their clients.
